Mayor Duncan heard that a young fifth grader had been bullied. Duncan gave a special presentation about the student’s family and their contribution to the community. The boy received a football and swag bag from the council. No details of the bullying were given.

Planning and Development Director, Jeremy Gleim, discussed Resolution No. 2024-42: Approving the final subdivision plat and final development plan for Welty Ridge Filing No. 2. The Welty Ridge filing is part of the overall Buc-ee’s land development. Filing No. 2 is planned as a residential subdivision, approximately 35.9 acres, south of Buc-ee’s travel center.
The Developer, Platte Land & Water, LLC, is requesting approval of a Final Subdivision Plat encompassing approximately 106.7 acres. The subdivision will create eight buildable lots, dedicate right-of-way within internal roadways, establish open space and drainage facilities, and create two large tracts for future commercial and industrial development.
The council unanimously approved Resolution No. 2024-42, and a subdivision development and improvement agreement for Welty Ridge Filing No. 2.
