Resident Angie Swanson updated the Council on her termite infestation. She said the termites are still a problem and was told by a contractor that the foundation of the house needs to be stabilized at a cost of $75,000. The city said Terracon Design drilled down 10’ on the property and did not find any water. Sr. Project Manager Torrez will take over the project and create a design to address drainage issues in the area. The completed design is expected by late December
The council unanimously approved a request from the Public Works Department to award construction of the Little Thompson River Pedestrian Bridge to RCD Construction Inc. The Little Thompson River Pedestrian Bridge project aims to connect the Little Thompson River Trail to an existing trail west of the Great Western Railroad on the north side of Weld County Road 46 ½ west to Weld County Road 17. The construction of this pedestrian bridge will result in a fully connected multimodal trail which spans from Weld County Road 19 (west end) to the downtown area and the Johnstown YMCA. This project would start in November/December 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-April 2025. Total cost for the project is expected to be $448,000.
